Man Makeup
Yes, you read that correctly, today’s blog is dedicated to Men’s makeup.
Men are finally figuring out what we (women) have known all along… makeup boosts your self-esteem, helps cover flaws and enhances your features.
From guyliner to manscara, men’s foundation, concealer, cleanser or moisturizer, these products are specifically designed to help men look their best.
Today’s modern man has realized that the pressure to look their best has never been higher. Whether you are on a date, at work, working towards a promotion or at a social gathering, your appearance speaks volumes. Did you know that your appearance can also affect how much money you make?
Economist Daniel Hamermesh of University of Texas at Austin, decided to explore this concept in his recently published book, Beauty Pays.
“In economic terms, beauty is scarce. People distinguish themselves and pay attention to beauty,” Hamermesh says. “Most of us want to look better so we can make more money. Companies realize that hiring better-looking people helps in various ways. In every market, whether it’s jobs or marriage, beauty matters.”
To all the novice meterosexuals, let’s ease into this.
4 Simple Tips for Men
#1. Start with a cleanser. A facial scrub will clear away any oil, sweat and grime out of your pores. Your skin will be smoother and clearer. This will also help you get a closer cleaner shave without as much skin irritation.
#2. Tinted Moisturizer. If wearing foundation scares you, try a tinted moisturizer. Not only will it hydrate your skin, it will also add a touch of colour and even out any redness.
#3. Eye Cream. Signs of aging are usually more prominent around the eyes. Why not use an eye cream that helps diminish the appearance of fine lines.
#4. Concealer. Hide dark circles, blemishes and scars. Remember that a little dab of product goes a long way.
Don’t be afraid of trying something new. If you don’t like the way it makes you look, just remember it’s only makeup and it can be easily washed off.
